Summer Camp Fun in 2025!
Every summer we offer something different for our Advanced Students. Instead of attending their usual classes, we invite them to attend camp. They get to choose which kind of camp they want to attend, and the camp sessions are longer than class, and with more kids of mixed ages and levels. This allows us to do more group activities that require more kids, and the kids get to be more creative together, forming new friendships, and experiencing new kinds of music and ensembles.

We had a blast doing musical theaters on Mondays. We learned, sang, and choreographed a song from the show “Dinosaur Valley” every session. The kids helped with choreography and creating a “set” for our Dinosaur Zoo. We had a lot of fun figuring out how to create these dinosaurs, whether we used props and cloth, or our own bodies. On Tuesdays we explored the world of percussion. The kids learned all kinds of ensembles, got to work with a percussionist, Sydney Bogard (who happens to be a former Jensen’s Yamaha student), and played fun games together. We used buckets to learn proper snare drum technique, and also Sydney provided a marimba for the kids to play along with our glockenspiels. We even got to try a drum set with cymbals, tom-toms, high hat, bass drum and snare. Check out videos and pictures of the fun we had: Link to Creative Ensemble Playlist
